I forgot how the word ‘blog’ was formed. I thought it must be a portmanteau. Of what, I could only come up with ‘bio’ and ‘log’.
Finally I had to look it up on Wikipedia. Weblog, of course.
It perhaps says something about the word’s status in my language brain – as though it had always been just ‘blog’.
